Beryl Hobson has worked at boardlevel in three sectors – as a Marketing Director in the insurance industry, as the chair of a Primary Care Trust in the public sector, and as a CEO, Trustee and Vice-Chair in the voluntary/ third sector. She has a particular interest in how boards work, and how the performance of the board can affect the impact of their organisation.

In her role as Head of the Large Charities Division at the Charity Commission, Beryl worked with the boards of many high profile charities to improve governance. During her time at the PCT she developed a board assessment tool for NHS boards to assess their own performance, which was subsequently used by NHS boards across the Strategic Health Authority area.

Beryl also has a wealth of experience in the development of strategy and has been involved in mergers at both a strategic and operational level.
